Goliath's Misty Golden Dream, You Will Be Missed

It has been a sad few days around our house. Our yellow lab, Misty, has been dealing with problems with what we thought was her rear legs but after another vet visit yesterday turned out to be her hips. Misty would be turning 9 in June and we have had her since she was 12 weeks old. It was a tough decision but the last thing we wanted was for her to be in any sort of pain which reduced her quality of life.

At 2:25 pm today, she was put to rest. Losing her is weighing heavily on all of us but we know she is no longer in pain. She was so great with the kids and we were very lucky to have her as part of our family for so long.

We love you Misty!

Chris's Gravatar my condolences, sorry to hear about that. Hope its a long time before I have to write a similar post about any of my animals.

Bash's Gravatar Sorry to hear about your Misty. I know first hand how attached one can get. They aren't pets, they are children. I lost my Shelby (Sheltie) last year. She now sits an urn at our house (according to her it was her house, she just let us live there with her) and will be buried/cremated with me when my time comes.

Mike Brunt's Gravatar I had to make a similar decision with our dog who was 13 and just got too weak to stand any more. I wanted to be with her when they put her to sleep, it was very quick as and I had my hand supporting her head as she took one last glance at me. I wish all of you the very best at this time, it's always hardest for the kids.
