Not sure how many of you have ever seen the old show "The Screensavers" that aired on ZDTV and then later on TechTV. But the show was canceled shortly after G4TV took over. It was a great show full of all things that celebrated geekdom and technology that met a much too early demise.

Well, most of the folks from that show have moved on and found their way into podcasting new shows and some of them are really good. For instance, Kevin Rose, the founder of the social news bookmarking site Digg.com, and former Screensavers co-host Alex Albrecht have been doing a video podcast called Diggnation where they review the top stories from Digg over the past week. Its very entertaining and quite hilarious and has gained quite a following.

But now, I have a new favorite podcast. I still subscribe to most of the Revision3 podcasts especially Diggnation, but Alex Albrecht has started a new show along with 2 co-hosts, Dan Trachtenberg, and Jeff Cannata called The Totally Rad Show and I have to admit, I sit here on Wednesdays waiting until 3pm EST for each new episode to be released.

This hasnt really happened to me in quite some time but lately I feel like Im suffering from what may be the geek equivalent of writers block. I dont really know how to describe it other than a lack of inspiration, I just lack the desire to write code. Maybe its the artist side of me that takes over too much.

Now after a few hours in the morning of checking email, catching up on the Coldfusion feeds and some good 'ole Digg Technology news. I can finally 'make' myself start coding. Although I have to feel that Im not doing my best work since Im forcing myself to sit here and code.

I work from home and I have been putting in about 12 - 15 hours a day over the last week and Im almost certain that is whats causing it. I have so many things I want to work on right now but I just cant seem to make myself do it though. Im working on my first FarCry site for one of our clients and thats pretty cool because Im exploring something new and Im learning. I have so many things that need to be done on Trac_Fu, I have another great idea that I want to code up and submit to Ben Nadel's CFUnited contest. But it seems like every 30 minutes Im jumping out of my chair to take a quick walk through the house or find an excuse to do something other than work.

Please tell me Im not the only one who deals with this sort of thing. What do you guys do when you get that feeling of just not being inspired?

I just received notification that I have 3 invites to the closed beta of Joost that I can give away. Since none of my friends are really into computers I figured the best place to give them away is right here. Give them to members of the community that I have been apart of for 10 years!

I dont want to just give them to the first 3 that respond though. That really wouldnt be fair since some people have to work during the day and may not see this post until WAY too late when they get online tonight.

Any thoughts on what I should do to give them away? I was thinking of a CF app that would randomly select the names that are submitted for them but I dont have much time to write another app right now with my schedule.

I thought about a CF Quiz but Im not really creative enough with code questions so thats out.

Im writing this post while riding with my wife on the interstate! Im such a geek.

I just got a Cingular 8125 phone to use until the iPhone ships and I read that in the latest OS X upgrade (10.4.9) they enabled PAN support over Bluetooth.

It took me 2 minutes to connect to my phone over bluetooth from my Macbook Pro, configure the connection to be used for internet and now Im using the phones EDGE connection over bluetooth as internet access for my Macbook Pro. I love being a geek!!

Speaking of my geekyness, Im the proud new owner of a 61" DLP widescreen HDTV as of yesterday! Ive had the same 56" big screen in my house for over 8 years now and the wife and I decided it was time for an upgrade.

I have already watched the first 3 episodes of the new Discovery HD mini-series called Planet Earth on it and OMG, what a difference! Now its time to hook up the Xbox 360 for some HD Ultimate Alliance!!
